In the surface modification group, a number of different reactors are used for
the surface treatment of polymers and for the deposition of various layers.
They range from a ultrahigh vacuum system, which is dedicated to more basic
research, to a semitechnical plasma reactor where substrates as large as
0,5 x 0,5 m2 can be processed or up to 30 cm wide webs can be treated
semi-continuousely. We can process webs at atmospheric pressure with an excimer
lamp, with a glow discharge, and, possibly combined with both, in gas/ vapor/
liquid treatment station.
